FreeUpscaler gives video and images two distinct ways to upscale. The free local methods decode and process the file inside the browser, on your own GPU. They do not upload the file, ask for an account, add a watermark or cap the number of runs.
When a file needs a higher ceiling, optional cloud AI models run on our servers for credits. They upload that file for the job, show the price on the Run button before anything is sent, and charge per run rather than by subscription.
The site explains which method fits which material instead of calling every option AI. Local video processing works best in desktop Chrome or Edge.
